Business ethics is one of the most essential and necessary part of any business. Ethics has been derived from the GREEK word 'ethos' meaning manners and behaviour in a positive. The difference between success and failure of a business is defined by the business ethics strategies and practises adopted by the business. Business ethics is signified with principles of integrity, honesty, responsiblity, society priority, caring and law abiding.

Talking about the opposite scenario, Unethical business practises have become a daily routine for the companies whereby the companies actually follow bribery, misleading information, wrong accounts, adulteraton, unethical marketing, non-abidance of the laws, bad quality products etc.

But it would be surprising tom see that one of our's favourite soft drink which smoothens our mind is one of the recognized and top unethical companies of the world. Coca Cola began its journey in 1886 which has pepsi, energy drink etc. has market share almost in every part of the world. It is well recognized for smoothening our minds.

This can be actually seen and recognized from large number of protests and inceptions shown by people, It has always been in controversy since its beginning and have fought a large number of battles to make way for success. But everytime the things have remain ethically against the so called leading company of the world.

The foremost major concern has been the destrying of groundwater by the company. A very famous place at Kala Dera at Jaipur, India where Coca Cola started its bottling operations due to which there was a rapid decline in groundwaterlevels which was directlty proportional to decline in agricultural income for the farmers. This was considered a sort of water pollution by the community. They did a large number of protests all over the country.

In this response it became compulsion on the part of Coca Cola tro pass such recommedations to survive in such a huge market-
  • Relocate the plant to a water surplus area.
  • Transport water from a nearest aquifier.
  • Store water from low stressed seasons.
  • Shut down this facility.
  • Installation of measuring devices by the company to check the water depletion.
  • Initiate the practise of Rainwater Harvesting.

Animal testing at Coca Cola has been one of the most unethical practices adopted at this famous company. It has been culprited many times and punished with large number of case pending for using innocent animals for it's benefits in the market. It has been convited under the cruelty of testing rats to check the viability and long-lasting of it's product and which led to their death in many cases.

This was not only the case, Coca Cola has also suffered from the lawsuit of discriminating worker's rights by discriminating them in late 1999 where around 1500 African-American employees gcriticicized the company for its mishappening where it did not gave equal compensatory bonuses to its employees. Since then it has been under this problem and still cases are pending and final judgement has not yet come.
